I want to leave you going into the weekend with this: God sees everything you do in secret.

He sees the prayer you prayed at 3 AM when you were crying and nobody knew.
He sees the tithe you gave even when your account was low.
He sees how you still chose kindness when you were treated badly at work.
He sees the times you chose integrity when the shortcut was right in front of you.
He sees the mother who sang worship songs over her sick child through the night.
He sees the single woman who honored God with her body even when it was hard.
He sees the man who chose his family over the offer that would have required him to compromise his values.

Matthew 6:4 — "Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Your obedience in the hidden places is building something you cannot yet see. Do not stop. Do not quit. Do not trade your integrity for a shortcut.

The reward is coming. And it will be better than anything you could have manufactured yourself.

You leave home at 5:30 AM. You battle traffic on the Tema motorway for 2 hours. You work until 6 PM. You pick up children from school or daycare. You cook. You clean. You help with homework. You finally sit down at 10 PM and the first thing you feel is — empty.

This is the life of millions of Ghanaian women. And nobody talks about how this schedule can slowly erode your spiritual life.

I have been there. Working in a bank in Accra, wife, mother — trying to be everything to everyone and slowly losing myself in the process.

Here is what brought me back:

1. MICRO-MOMENTS OF PRAYER
I started praying in my car during traffic. 10 minutes of worship music on the way to work. No guilt about missing "quiet time." Just presence wherever I was.

2. SCRIPTURE WALLPAPERS
I change my phone wallpaper every week to a different Bible verse. I see my phone 100 times a day. That means I see God's word 100 times a day. Constant renewal.

3. FIND YOUR FAITH COMMUNITY ONLINE
When I cannot make it to church midweek service, I have a WhatsApp group of 8 women who hold each other accountable. We share one prayer request every morning. It takes 2 minutes but it keeps us connected.

4. SABBATH RUTHLESSLY
Sunday is non-negotiable for me. No work emails. No side hustle. Church and rest. Your body and spirit need it.

5. CELEBRATE SMALL FAITHFULNESS
God sees the mother who prays over her sleeping children even when she is exhausted. That counts. Small acts of faithfulness in a busy life are not less valuable than a monk in a monastery.

You are doing better than you think. Keep going. 🙏

I want to start by saying: I love the church. I grew up in the church. The church has been my foundation.

But today I need to speak about something many Ghanaian Christians avoid: mental health.

In many of our churches, if you say you are depressed, you are told to "pray more." If you are anxious, you are told "you lack faith." If you seek therapy, some people say you are "trusting man more than God."

This is causing real harm to real people.

Here is what I believe as a Christian: God created the human mind. He also created psychologists, therapists, and medical doctors. Seeking mental health support is not a lack of faith — it is good stewardship of the mind God gave you.

Depression is not a spiritual failure. Anxiety is not sin. Trauma needs healing that prayer alone — while powerful — may need partners.

Jesus healed the sick. He did not tell the lame man to "just have more faith and walk." He touched him. Sometimes healing requires more than spiritual intervention.

My sisters, if you are struggling:

💙 Seeking help is an act of courage, not shame

I am praying that our churches in Ghana begin to create safe spaces where mental health is treated with the same urgency as physical illness. We are whole people — spirit, soul, AND body.
